Hydrangea, ‘Ajisai’ in Kamakura

‘Hydrangea in Kamakura’ is the one of the most popular tourism attraction in June around Tokyo.

While Kamakura is famous sight of an old city in all season, it is especially lovely in hydrangea season. Phenomenal huge number of hydrangeas bloom from the middle of June to the first of July in the garden of temples in Kamakura. You would enjoy walk, fascinated by combination of the traditional temples and the hydrangeas garden.

How to get to Kamakura
See the access on the official website of Kamakura.

Place to see hydrangea

*While Hase temples has the largest hydrangea garden, moving around multiple temples is recommended. You can use lovely traditional train, ‘Eno den line’, to move around there. When you become tired to walk, you can take rest at a traditional cafe

The bloom peak timing:
The bloom peak is faster in this year than usual year, would be ended in the end of June.

* At Zuisen temple, it is available until the first of July.

Others
Kamakura has a lot of traditional sight to see other than hydrangea as many of you already know. I also would like to introduce those on this blog later.
